How To Avoid Depression And
Loneliness When You Have Morning Sickness
Nobody
wants to endure morning sickness, but that is the truth of the majority of
women who become pregnant. Sure, some women only have an incident or two
where they feel nauseous. Then, there are other women who feel sick until
they deliver. More than likely you will fall into the group of women who get
some morning sickness that tapers off by the second trimester. However, if
that is not the case then it is very likely you will feel depressed and
lonely. It is important for you to keep your emotions in check while pregnant
and make every effort to stay centered, calm, and focused on what is going on
in your life. You don't want to allow yourself to become depressed or lonely.
So, follow these tips to help keep you on target. Tip #1 Join a Support Group
There
are many support groups out there for women with morning sickness and the
more severe form of morning sickness, HG. If you have this then you know it
is very difficult to even leave the bathroom, much less your home. Joining an
online support group is a great way to stay in touch with the outside world
while getting help for your situation. You will find you feel better sharing
what's going on in your life as well as knowing what's going on in others.
You may even be able to help others, so give it a shot! Tip #2 Get Out of the House
If
you are nauseous all the time you will want to simply stay home to avoid
being uncomfortable or potentially embarrassing moments. However, this is
very isolating and it can be quite lonely. You don't want to be lonely so you
need to reach out to your partner, friends, and family members and explain to
them how you feel and let them know how important it is for you to get out of
the house sometimes. They will focus on spending time with you and taking you
places where you can feel like you are not just a pregnant woman with morning
sickness. Tip #3 Talk With Your Doctor
If you are feeling lonely and
depressed while you are pregnant you will want to make sure you talk to your
doctor about it. Many times your doctor will be able to help you and treat
your symptoms. {Pregnancy should be a happy time, not a sad one, so focus on
what's good in your life and the fact that in a few short months you will be
a mommy and have a little baby to care for. |
